Trust & Safety
Joined the Trust & Safety team to help make technology safer for the people who use it.
01 / MORNING
Technical product manager.
Engineer at heart.
I work where product, engineering, and trust & safety meet. I like understanding how things work, finding the right problem, and building something useful with a team.
A lot of that curiosity carries into my free time. This is a little tour of both.
Come along for the day
02 / WORK
An engineering background.
A product perspective.
My experience spans software engineering and technical product management, with a particular interest in trust, safety, and the ways technology gets used in the real world.

Technical Product Management · Abuse
A move from engineering into product, focused on abuse, bots, and bad actors.
Software Engineering
Building software for performance monitoring and optimization, from conception through delivery.
03 / APPROACH
A few things I keep coming back to.
Before getting attached to a solution, understand who needs it and what’s actually getting in their way. A clearer problem makes the next decision easier.
There’s usually more than one reasonable path. Make the choices and their costs visible so the team can decide with the same information.
Build enough to test an idea, listen to what happens, and adjust. I like staying close to the technical details and learning alongside the people doing the work.
04 / AT HOME
Cooking, coffee, and company.
Put a few people around the kitchen island and give me something to cook. That’s a pretty good evening.
Cooking for the people I care about.
There’s an espresso machine in the corner for a reason.
Good company does most of the work.
05 / WINDING DOWN
Christy, Nami, and a quiet evening.
Time on the couch with my fiancée, Christy, and our cavapoo, Nami. Usually something to watch, something to snack on, and a dog who’s already asleep.
Books, stories, and other people’s ideas are part of the day, too. Some of those thoughts end up in Field Notes by Luis .
One more idea
06 / AFTER HOURS
Small projects. Useful discoveries.
Some of my best learning starts with a small idea and a laptop. I build things to understand a technology, make a task easier, or see whether an idea works.
